I was feeling fairly "harlem" today (uptown kids pls dont get offended) and was on a mad hunt for sweat pants. I got a pair and then genius maine suggested i get constructs to go with them. -_- im old and passed my sneaker/boot phase. i much rather walk out in a comfortable pair of chanel loafers and alexander wang mock leather leggings. apparently, im too bougie for my own good. i wont lie, its beyond comfortable to be in sweats and sneakers, but where is the cut off point where i can comfortably wear a pair of scuffed bapes or worn in og super coveted jordans and still somehow "shit" on the chick next to me?
consequently, i dont want to look like a fool in an exuberantly priced handbag and a pair of kicks a teenage girl has on as well. back to the original story, we walked into a random footlocker, and asked for the size i needed (3). sales person came back, i took off my favorite riding boots and stuck my little itty bitty piggy (haha nickiminaj!!) foot into the timbs and felt a little...eh.. maine said to walk around...i looked around kind of embarrassed. here i am, in a black trench, mini dress and wolford tights....with a riding boot on my right foot and a goddamn timberland on my left.... so i begrudgingly obliged. i trotted around for no more than 7 steps.
NYSF readers, let me tell YOU something honeychile, i can NOT for the life of me walk in those things. maybe it was because i was wearing tights and not real socks BUT those felt more uncomfortable than the steepest pair of stilettos. i've worn everything from strappy manolos ( a la carrie bradshaw) to 6+ inch miu miu wedges.
as a result of my uncomfort i made a nimbooda (sour) face and told maine it was a no go. he looked at me with the utmost surprise and asked if i was serious....wtf you mean am i serious?? my face didnt tell you enough or do you want me to continue to stand around looking like a fool with two different shoes on? lol. he laughed at me, turned to the sales person and said the funniest thing i had heard out of his mouth in a while "son, how they can walk in louboutins but not timbs?"
i then realized, what the heck is wrong with me? can i really not walk in those but the monstrosities that i wear on a regular basis? damn.
hopefully, one day i will find a happy medium between sneakers, flats, boots and heels. until then, ill stay far far away from timbs and continue to let the dust collect on my diverse sneaker collection (we were all in hs once, no?)

Timbs are just really god awful, I can never wear mine unless I'm riding behind on a motorcycle. that's the only exception I will endure the pain for.
