So today i took a trip to the city just because i wanted to get out. Did a little walking around, had some Reese's Pieces and a slice of pizza, but anywho on the way back home i bumped into my homie X (BAPE STAFF). Had no idea that we took the same train to get home. I thought i was the only one who took whatever train to 42nd just to catch the 7 to Flushing( i don't live in that area).
Our train ride was dope(i never say that word btw). The convo couldn't have been better. It's always cool to chat it up with someone on the same page as you, right? right. We were talking about this generation of "cool". Cool - Sneakers, skinny jeans, being into the Arts, owning an SLR, being a producer etc etc. Anything concerning the Arts. X and I spoke specifically about how 4-6+ years ago being into this wasn't the IN thing. I was never apart of the IN crowd, trust me, not even in HS. I always kept to myself and focused on my craft which was.. pretty much everything i just said "cool" is now. From the fashion to the occupation, Soho is pretty much home to more "photographers, models, designers, visionaries etc."(not knocking anyone) We both remember when Soho was a place for "weird" people. Non matching clothes, bright sneakers, and more. Now it's like a runway, a place where everyone is doing the same thing(NOT for the love of it, more so cause it brings money and a new title). I went to Elementary school in the Village so i literally sat back and watched this place change into what it is now... To be continued in video form.
Haha, on another note, your boy X here has been a fan of KAWS(Original Fake) for about 6-7 years.
